Columbia River Occupational Health is able to provide the full range of Occupational Health services to the employers and employees in Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon.

While working with the injured worker is the most visible role of Occupational Medicine, preventive medicine and exposure surveillance are major aspects of this specialty. By monitoring the health of workers with exposures to heavy metals, asbestos, noise, radiation, pesticides, etc., the potential injury can be greatly reduced or eliminated.

On Site Services

Providing services on-site can help with work production and time away from the work facility. Services most commonly provided: respirator fit testing, both qualitative and quantitative, vaccines; HepB, HepA, ppd (TB test), Blood testing, Flu vaccine clinics, physicals and drug testing.

We are also available for employer health fairs.

Additional fees are based on what services are to be provided.

Answering the following questions helps us serve you better:

Injured worker care

  • Do you have modified duty for injured workers, for which jobs?
  • Do you have specific light duty jobs for injured workers and, if so, do you have job analysis available for us to review?
  • Do you require post-accident drug testing? For all or under just certain circumstances?
  • Which worker compensation insurer do you use?
  • Who is the best person to contact concerning issues with an injured worker?

Surveillance exams

  • For which exposures do you require surveillance exams?
  • Do you need assistance in setting up surveillance exams?
  • What are the pre-placement criteria for each position that you screen for?
  • Do you have company specific medical forms that you require us to use? If not, we will use our own forms.
  • How do you want the results of surveillance exams communicated to you and to whom?
  • For CDL medical exams, do you wish to have us bill the company or is the driver responsible for paying for their own?

Respirator Certifications (Medical and Fit testing)

  • For which conditions do you require respirator use?
  • Which respirators do you use?
  • Do you have a respirator program written out already or do you need assistance with creating or reviewing one?
  • Although there is no regulation stipulating the duration for a medical certification, the standard of practice is 1 year for SCBA, 2 years for others.
  • If the medical questionnaire indicates that further evaluation of a worker is indicated, who do we contact to get the worker in to be examined?

Drug Testing

  • Who is the DER (Designated Employer Representative) for your company, and what are the contact numbers?
  • Do you have a drug test policy already in place, or do you need assistance in creating or reviewing one?
  • For non-regulated testing, we generally follow DOT guidelines; do you have any company specific differences?
  • How do you wish to have us deal with workers that will require continuing the collection process after usual closing hours?

Hearing Conservation

  • Do you have a hearing protection program in place, or do you need assistance in creating or reviewing one?
