Hearing conservation has become increasingly important, as it is now one of the top causes for worker compensation claims. If workers are exposed to an 8-hour average of 85 dB or greater then a hearing conservation program is required.
A hearing conservation program consists of engineering changes to control sound levels, use of appropriate hearing protection, hearing loss monitoring and hearing loss prevention.
